About:
Voted Melaka’s best Indian restaurant in 2007, just off little India,
this is a great local restaurant serving typical Tamil-nadu
(South-Indian) cuisine at a great price. The menu is vast for both
veggies and meat-eaters. A common favourite being the banana leaf set,
which consists of as much rice as you can eat, accompanied by 3 veg
dishes, served on a banana leaf with poppadoms. You can then choose
extras from a huge range of curries, such as chicken, mutton, fish,
prawns as well as many vegetarian dishes that change daily. Vegetarians
shouldn’t miss Fridays, as they offer even more dishes than usual.
They also offer local classics such as roti canai, masala-thosai, fresh lassi’s and a selection of naans with tandoori chicken (from 5pm). It’s a very clean ‘open-kitchen’ restaurant, with friendly staff and quick service.
It’s popular among the locals, so expect to see local Tamil families in traditional garb.A must for any traveller seeking authentic South-Indian cuisine at local rates.
